General Laborers
As a General Laborer at Vets4Hire, you’ll assist with various tasks on job sites, including cleanup, moving materials, and supporting specialized tradesmen like carpenters, painters, and landscapers. We’re looking for hardworking, dependable individuals who are ready to contribute to a team and complete each job to the highest standards. No previous experience is required, but a strong work ethic and attention to detail are essential.
Painters
Our Painters are responsible for both interior and exterior painting projects, ensuring clean, professional finishes on residential and commercial properties. This role includes surface preparation, such as sanding and priming, as well as applying coats of paint, stain, or finishes to walls, decks, and other surfaces. Experience with painting tools, techniques, and safety standards is preferred, though training can be provided.
Carpenters
Carpenters at Vets4Hire work on various construction and renovation projects, including building custom decks, framing, installing doors and windows, and more. Applicants should have hands-on experience with carpentry tools and materials and a strong understanding of construction techniques. We’re seeking individuals who take pride in their craftsmanship and can work independently or as part of a team to complete high-quality work on time.
Landscapers
As a Landscaper at Vets4Hire, you’ll help create and maintain beautiful outdoor spaces for our clients. Responsibilities include lawn care, planting, mulching, and building outdoor structures such as patios and retaining walls. Experience in landscaping or groundskeeping is preferred, but we welcome those willing to learn. You should be prepared for physically demanding work, have an eye for detail, and take pride in creating attractive, functional outdoor environments.
Handyman/Repair Specialists
Our Handyman/Repair Specialists at Vets4Hire are skilled in a wide range of tasks, from small repairs and maintenance to more complex fixes around homes and commercial properties. Tasks include everything from drywall repair and minor plumbing or electrical work to assembling furniture or installing fixtures. We’re looking for versatile problem-solvers with a solid understanding of basic repair techniques and a commitment to delivering high-quality results on every job.
Project Managers
Project Managers at Vets4Hire oversee construction and renovation projects from start to finish. Responsibilities include planning, budgeting, and coordinating teams to ensure projects are completed on time and within scope. Strong communication and leadership skills are key, as you’ll be liaising between clients, tradespeople, and management. Experience in project management or a related field is preferred, and a background in construction or the trades is highly beneficial.
Steven Feist – Owner/CEO
Steven Feist brings a lifetime of construction experience and dedication to Vets4Hire. Growing up in a family of contractors—his father a roofing contractor, one uncle an electrical contractor, and another a general contractor—Steven developed a strong foundation in construction from an early age. After moving to the Verde Valley in the early 1990s, he pursued a career in the aerospace industry, where he contributed to various complex projects.
Though not a veteran himself, Steven has a deep appreciation and respect for those who have served. His desire to support veterans led him to join Vets4Hire in 2016. In 2017, while attending Yavapai College, he purchased the local Prescott franchise and began expanding the company. Under his leadership, Vets4Hire now serves communities throughout Northern and Central Arizona, creating meaningful career opportunities for veterans and delivering high-quality services across the region.
